Stroke prevention can start at a relatively young age, said Charisse Barta, M.D., a neurologist on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
“Being on an aspirin a day after the age of 40, depending on your risk factors, can be helpful with stroke prevention,” she said. “And then just living a heart healthy life also helps with stroke.”
