47-year-old Angela Heinkel was the picture of perfect health, a busy and active mother of 11 children who went running every day. So it was a shock when she suffered a stroke after finishing one of her regular runs.

What a wonderful story! I found setting a huge challenge/goal was a major step to my recovery. I was left unable to read (but could write) and my challenge was to write a book titled ‘Thank God I Had a Stroke, because when they tested me they also discovered a brain tumour. Not being able to read meant that my husband had to read each page back to me as I wrote it – how wonderful having loved ones with you to care and support you (like your son). My book is now published.
