Supporting someone living with dementia and stroke or coronary heart disease

A combination of dementia and stroke or coronary heart disease can result in a unique set of challenges for people living with these conditions and their carers. All three conditions have similar risk factors meaning it is not uncommon for a person to be living with more than one of these conditions.

Alzheimer’s Australia VIC has created a toolkit suitable for all medical and healthcare professionals – GPs, nurses, personal care workers, community aged care workers, and others – and which also provides information for community members and people living with dementia.

In addition, you can read about dementia and HIV, as well as dementia and diabetes. Each of the three topics has downloadable resources to help you help others with dementia.
