Hmm…they’re parts of Phoenix that are very lucious, green with no shorage of trees: North Central Avenue corridor (from Central & Camelback Rd to Central & Glendale Rd.) the Biltmore area as well as the Arcadia neighborhood. Now these are the most expensive parts of Phoenix with median home price of $1.1 million dollars so if you have the wherwithwal. I would definitely consider living in that part of Phoenix. Because it defintely has what you’re looking for.

Great presentation! “And Doggie parks! If you got them doggies and then furry friends, it is so friendly to them…” Cracked me up and I like his enthusiasm. Receiving a job offer in Phoenix and researching. This guy lays it out. I appreciate the great overall review of the area!

This video was hard to finish, you have the same voice and music as every other YouTube video, like a repetitive radio guy. Be yourself and STOP REPEATING YOURSELF!

I’m working on moving to phoneix in the next year or two. I’m really excited for this journey and new it career. my question I want to ask is, how much should someone should make to live a comfortable lifestyle for a single man

How are the dangerous insects and wildlife? That is one of the only things holding me back from deciding to move there.

Also, which parts of Phoenix do you believe are unsafe when it comes to crime?

Don’t want to be a naysayer, but here are some facts….both pro and con. Many people will make the erroneous statement that it is only hot here 3 months out of the year. When I say "hot," I mean over 100 degrees. That is not correct. It is hot for 7 months out of the year and it seems to go on and on forever. This Saturday, May 1, it will be 103. Think about that, while many areas of the country are enjoying early Spring and the Spring flowers are breaking through the ground, it is already 103 in Phoenix. I will be like that and hotter through late November. The Phoenix area has the second highest rate of skin cancer with all that sun; only Australia beats us. Some people in the comments have claimed that there are not scorpions. They may be a lucky minority. I had a lump on my jaw the size of a golf ball because of a scorpion sting while I was sleeping. We have the bark scorpion, the most venomous in the U.S. We also have rattlesnakes, black widows and killer (Africanized) bees. The bees kill several people and dogs every year. One of my friends says he has killed more than 200 scorpions outside his house and several more inside. We have lots of traffic during rush hour. I used to sit in traffic from 2 to nearly 4 hours daily, especially if there was an accident. When you think of crime, do you think of the Phoenix Valley? You should. It is bad and getting worse. If you have disregarded the border crisis, then understand that it directly impacts the Phoenix area and that cartels and drug smuggling are reflected in local homicides and other crimes.

What are the pros? When some parts of the country are dealing with snow and cold, it can be nice here. If you like hiking in the desert, there are opportunities for that around Phoenix. After the pandemic is over, I’m sure many of the art festivals, that occur from November through March will return. There are some opportunities with high-tech companies if you are qualified. When I moved here from Atlanta nearly 30 years ago, would I have appreciated someone shedding light on many of these things? You bet. If I didn’t have a teen who needs a dad locally; I would move in a second.

hide inside from june to october. Go to the store in the morning. Park in a garage dpnt use it for storage

  18. Jack Connolly on September 21, 2021 at 10:11 pm

LOL @ 3 months of summer 🙂 After a while you will realize that it is 6 months. It will reach 100 degrees in October and it will be back in May.

Pros: Short sleeves and shorts in Jan and Feb
Cons: 100 days straight of 100 degree plus weather with 115 degrees for a week straight randomly between June and August

    Pros: It’s dry
    Cons: It’s dry

And, you will learn to appreciate the desert landscape.

  21. fuck off on September 21, 2021 at 10:15 pm

You clearly dont live in PHOENIX! You either live in MesaTempeGilbertChandler area. Thats not Phoenix. Scottsdale isn’t west either, that’s east. Come to 35th and McDowell. Drive down the I10 and Grand. Now that’s Phoenix

  22. The Think Show on September 21, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Not sure how many summers you have been through, but I have been through 29 and still hate them. If I didn’t have a teen who needs some guidance, I would move out of this place in a heartbeat. Never a fan of brown landscapes, rocks and saguaro cactus. Would love a green place, but your description of lots of green in the East Valley may be stretching the facts compared to much of the rest of the country. Also, you said 8 months of "nice weather." Make that 7 months of hot weather…from late April (101 this Friday) to late November. You can’t wear an air conditioner. Crime is increasing and will only get worse as the cartels have an open door to the area now. Killer bees, scorpions, rattlesnakes….property crime…changing politics that will increase taxes..no thanks.

Hey! Welcome to Phoenix! My family and I lived in Portland for 5 years and we moved back here in 2010. Once you have lived here it is so hard to live anywhere else! We still have family in Portland and it’s very sad what has happened to the city- it breaks my heart. Welcome welcome! You will love it!

Phoenix just gota blessing, a bit more snow just fell in the rockies,,not much, but a slice of bread(forget the half loaf senario) is better than NONE at all, besides you guys have to split that snow up twix 3 other states.
California is rationing as i type. AZ will follow suit. Not sure why AZ officials have not announced rationing yet,,ohh I know,,might harm the real estate bubble..money rules , Money is The only god.

    just a matter of time.
5M people living in a desert,,U don’t see the ridiculousness of this??

Goodyear, Avondale, Surprise, litchfield and Verrado Buckeye area is also nice and a great place to live. Traffic isn’t bad there as well.

  30. Janet Castellano on September 21, 2021 at 10:23 pm

It is very expensive to live here. I have been here 22 yrs now and sold my house and left. I then turned around sold that house in San Antonio and came back. The housing market is crazy. But found one. Yeah. So now we have been back 6 months and regardless of the cost the people are more diverse and just more interested in helping you out. So we are staying. Nobody is from AZ we are all from some where else.

  37. surferdude44444 on September 21, 2021 at 10:33 pm

Where do you really live? Phoenix, Houston or Portland?

  38. Lois Austin on September 21, 2021 at 10:35 pm

I left Glendale is 1981 so I know things must be tremendously changed. Back then I soon found out that Phoenix had really lousy public transportation. You have to have a car to survive out there whether you want the hassle and expense of one or not.

  39. Jacob Amador on September 21, 2021 at 10:35 pm

Phoenix’s downtown looks quite depressing considering the shear size of the city

  42. M A on September 21, 2021 at 10:37 pm

Hoping to move there later this year <3 … Bye Bye East Coast

  43. Jason Roberts on September 21, 2021 at 10:39 pm

In regards to pools, I moved to Surprise about two months ago and we had to get a fence built before being able to use our pool since we have a 4 year old.

Thankfully, I work from home and my son has last shift hours in Goodyear but, like you said, the traffic is minimal.

I wonder how would it be for me coming from NYC

  45. NN L on September 21, 2021 at 10:43 pm

You never mentioned the monorail or tram system that goes around the city – to avoid traffic to concerts downtown and Tempe Mill Avenue. If you have arthritis and your bones hurt with the cold and dampness of other states, you will love the dry heat – otherwise the dry heat for 3 months is severe. But a reprieve during July and August bursts of showers and lightening light shows – awesome. Never seen so many old men in walking shorts before – almost all year round. Very casual attire here. Much of the old West still exists and many Indian Tribe owned casinos all over.

  46. Daniel Brew on September 21, 2021 at 10:47 pm

Can u fried an egg in your car hood on Summer heat.

  47. Triston Washington on September 21, 2021 at 10:47 pm

    (1. It is not cheap in Arizona. (2.People die frequently from the heat, even unnecessary avoidable deaths. (3. Traffic is Horrible, over crowding. Highways are beautiful and well fixed to get to certain locations that seem far but cut allot of time in half. (4. A whole city dedicated to seniors (Sun City)and quite a bit of neighborhoods like that. (5. Government has no positive statements; Police are very difficult to live with. Right to work State. ( Companies make it harder to stay with for one company.)

Arizona could be such a better place if we had better leaders period….. But i think its now over populated now….Outdoor if taken the right safety measures can be very fun and beautiful scenery.
