Millions reported problems with dental implants
Arizona’s Family Investigates looked into the costly procedure of getting dental implants and why millions of reported problems went unnoticed.
Go to an ENDODONTIST! We can save teeth with modern technology that used to be condemned . Research Gentlewave technology. Just because your tooth may have a crack and/or infection doesn’t mean it’s a death sentence for your tooth! Nothing looks, feel or functions like the natural tooth!
I’ve never seen implants that just pop out & you put them back in. They supposed to be permanent. Why are hers removable ?
I know someone who developed thyroid disease after full-mouth implants with sinus-lift bone grafts. Then it turned into permanent thyroid eye disease – seeing double and there is no cure.
Ginger said she was in "perfect" health. However, she also said she thought the tooth extractions would help her recover from "Valley Fever," which is a very serious fungal infection affecting people living in the Southwest. It comes from the soil and is spread by the gusty winds of the desert. The dentist should have given her a metal allergy test anyway so as not to compound her problems.
I think it is terrible what this woman is going through BUT if the pain and sickness is so bad WHY has she not had the implants removed and gotten traditional dentures? Something isn’t right here.. I feel some of the story is being left out.
Why are my attempts to share dental awareness via my website being removed?
Ceramic implants are available.
I have 7 implants, since 2017, and though I’ve had no real problems, if I had known that they were such HIGH MAINTENANCE, I never would have gotten them. You have to wear a nightguard nightly, floss/thread after every meal, use an electric toothbrush and also a waterpik for at least 2 minutes 2-3 times daily and cleanings are 3-4times per year, instead of twice per year. Also if one gets loose, you have to have the implant screw tightened and MOST of all, make sure that you don’t get any infection or inflammation around the implant. Yes, they do look great and I don’t have anything to remove at night (partial bridges, etc.), but I’m sorry that I got the implants just for the high maintenance alone!! Seriously a huge responsibility and pain in the ASS.
Who the hell put her implants in her mouth. Damn
I’m a dentist. I have placed over 3000 implants in my career. This story was very well reported. Hats off to the journalist. I feel for the lady here. A little more info is needed to make judgement, but it does seem overly aggressive to extract all her teeth and move to implant retained dentures. I hope she finds better health soon.
You can imagine what is probably in the metal. Things they don’t want people to know. Why else would they not respond to this journalist. Very very shady.
ah yes, scientific illiterates doing their research on the youtube again
Thank you for exposing this with dental implants! I hope ginger does well moving forward
why don’t you report Vaccine injuries so FDA has to update their website again!
Remove the implants and clean all the cavitation. Your body can only heal a clean wound.
I am getting mine out. I just have one and it is making me insane.
I have one dental implant and I haven’t had any problems.
Had a dental implant placed in July. Within days felt weaker & weaker until I ended up in the hospital for a week. Having my implant removed this week & hoping for best . Lost tons of muscle & impossible to eat because of the constant pain.
Well done Madrice. Massive shout out to you. Amazing investigation and journalism.
No offense but ginger seems like she’s looking for someone to blame for her poor health. Dental implants can be removed, if she’s so convinced they are causing her pain, why hasn’t she done that yet? Then she can get some nice plastic dentures.
So wtf do I do I have missing teeth that need to b replaced if implants r bad what do I do
Titanium contains nickel and other metals which is an issue but what about Zirconia Implants that contain no metals?
i am diplomed dental prosthesist in Switzerland. i stoped working in this field for moral reasons.
i won’t recomment the vast magiority of the dentists in swizerland. at least in all the reagions i worked.
and what i was told in school is that there is no way the body reject titanium implants exept for allergy (that is never veryfied, but really rare) generally dentists use to tell to the patient that "they rejected the implant" when in reality is to cover their mistakes.
like necrosing the bone when piercing for the implant or other medical act from them. or an imperfection from the prothesist that allow bateria to stay and developp there.
or simy put an implant in the mouth of a person that is unhealthy and that we know will de velopp infection because of bad hygiene. (but for the sake of money they put the implant anyway)
to sumarise the dental situation in swizerland is terrible because they have no system to regulate them.
they have the adventage of a medical job without the obligations, no controls on the prices, no survey organism…. and generally it is the choice the persones that choose medical studies and fails take by default to not be thrown out of the university……
Years of suffering . Years of drugs and yet she has not have them removed ? 11 years ? Somethings very fishy . She obviously needs a good psychiatrist
Hye… DENTAL Implants are safe!! With proper planning , investigation and with good case.selection Implant can safe lifes…. With reporting malpracticing dentist who don’t practice proper history taking , planning by using CBCT and graft , proper oral care to avoid Peri implantitis , post instructions , like the lady in the video looks like she wears her denture overnight which reflect of the dirt on the base of denture obviously causes irritation to the gums and swelling due to prolonged tissue compression will cause it to ‘wobble’… Failure to care for their hygeine post treatment is a failure rate that is accounted for due to patients failure to take care of their mouth and it is a must for dentist to acknowledge the patients too.. And he denture base seems to have some nickel metal base… Change to a full acrylic denture base and see if it gets better… And to the comments who are saying cleaning my tooth every 6 month caused more issue and stuff.. don’t just jump on a bandwagon that seems like a great thing to do but obviously… The title Dr didn’t just come by and it is a practice that is very important because a smile and function of tooth is very important to mankind💐🌟 Tc all
Such good reporting! Thank you, Chris!!
I love this news channel
In most cases there is NO issue getting an implant if the dentist is properly trained in the procedure and the patient is a good candidate. You have to have good oral hygiene. I had a bad tooth that had to come out. Choices were a bridge which would necessitate two crowns on the adjacent teeth. One of these teeth was an original in great condition. The other had a filling. I chose not to touch this tooth in great condition or the other one and got the implant. No issues and I don’t have to go back and get two crowns replaced in the future. The process of getting the implant from start to finish was about 16 weeks. I am highly suspect in dentists who offer this procedure quicker without allowing the bone graft to heal properly. Done right your good for life. But remember, as with any surgical procedure there is a failure rate. Know your dentist! And if your not using one, get a Waterpik!
Yup my youngest son is allergic to nickle
at what point are you like ok pull 23 teeth out
DENTIST ARE NOTHING MORE THAN USED CAR SALESMAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR LOWER !!!!!!!!
Yup, don’t get them. Dental implants fail after 10 years. Why don’t they tell patients that?
People who smoke should not get dental implants. That’s terrible what she has had to go through….so sad 😥
My grandmother had implants for 50yrs and no problems….
Some of these dentist want you to spend more money than you should find someone who can help you not take all your money and still have problems
Needed one filling and was convinced to get full mouth extractions with implant retained dentures?…..wow…. Second opinion would have been helpful to her. Wild situation
Why does she still have those things, in her mouth ?!!
has anyone tried carving a tooth out of "living stone" such as jade? didnt a us president make himseldf wooden teeth?
Dentists need to be sued!
Well? Opinions??
Best dental care I have ever received was from the dental school at Ohio State University. You have students working on you, and their only goal is to get a good grade.
Kris Pickel…No relation to Pickle Rick
She is a HUGE SMOKER which they refuse to do implants on smokers now for this reason!
I have two dental implants and have had no problems with them. I paid a lot more than $4,000 for one implant. However, my niece was one whose dental implants would not "take". The bones in her jaw could not hold them in place. Unfortunately, she had to get dentures which changed the shape of her mouth and she didn’t look the same as before.
After being ill for 11 years, why does she still have the implants in her mouth?!
Good dentists are Rare, and sometimes even the best ones have no clue about how unreliable and dirty some of the implants they receive from the manufacturer.
Thank God there are initiatives like the Clean Implant Foundation that hold manufacturers accountable!
This has been a major concern for me because I am also allergic to nickel. I was illegally injected with tetracycline for the first 5 years of my life which resulted in dental problems and stunted growth. The company I work for requires me to have my image posted onto social media and used in marketing campaigns almost daily. My teeth are in such a poor state that I have learnt to smile with my mouth closed. I have digestive issues because I can’t chew my food properly. According to my dentists dental implants are my best option. After seeing this ladies story I am inclined to settle for the regular painful and frustrating removable dentures as it seems like the lesser of the two evils.
People seemed to miss the part of the story about titanium alloys and how many manufacturers are providing dentists with contaminated implant products as being “sterile”.
This is bad reporting. The first lady should be smart enough to seek second opinion when she was asked to pull out 22 teeth for 1 cavity. Also what she had were dentures & not true complete implants.
Sure, there are risks in all surgical procedures. That is why it is important to choose a well qualified dental surgeon.
I hope this reporter does a thorough investigation on the safety of the current covid 19 vaccines & what are the coverups.
Dentists and car dealers are on top of the list of people you should never trust.
