Million Hearts: Preventing Heart Attacks and Strokes

Million Hearts is a national initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over the next five years. This video comes from interviews with Americans who are heart attack or stroke survivors and their family members. Heart disease and stroke are two of the leading causes of death in the United States.
Million Hearts joins communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and private-sector partners from across the country to fight heart disease and stroke. Million Hearts brings together existing efforts and new programs to improve health across communities and help Americans live longer, healthier, more productive lives.     Unlike the title, this has nothing to do with preventing strokes her heart attacks it just tells you what these people went through when they were already experiencing one. Do you want to know what it boils down to more than genetics? Diet.

    A simple test currently in the UK will shortly be available in the USA. It will check for arterial stiffness, the leading cause of heart attacks and strokes. Amazing! There is a channel on YouTube that explains more – splatthefly1
