Living with Arrhythmias: What to Know When Your Heart is Out of Rhythm

2020 Silver Telly Winner in Non-Broadcast: Health and Wellness

Have you or a loved one ever experienced an irregular heart rhythm? If so, you know how frightening it can be—especially if you don’t know what’s causing it, or if it’s a sign of something serious or life-threatening. Irregular heart rhythms, or arrhythmias, occur when the heart’s electrical signals are abnormal—making it beat too fast, too slow, or in an uncoordinated manner. There are numerous types of arrhythmias. Some resolve on their own, while others need treatment.

This short film addresses the different types of arrhythmias, including, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT), which affects around 1.7 million people in the United States. Watch this short film to learn more about these arrhythmias, diagnosis, and treatment options.

Ask your physician for a halter monitor if it’s freaking you out. Yes its annoying to have something strapped to your chest for 3 days but at least then you’ll have info

My normal resting heart rates like last week were around the 70’s and im 13, I was about to go to bed when I noticed that my heart was beating so fast, and i checked it, and it was at 96, this has been going on for 2 days, and now it is at 90, and before my heart was beating fast i got in trouble and was scared so idk if it was anxiety or not but i dont know what to do, please let me know, for the past night ive been telling myself im ready to die because i dont know what to do

I read that when a person starves, his/her Blood Pressure and Pulse Rate will decrease and that when a person has severe fear such as fear of death, his/her BP and BR will increase. If the person has both starvation and severe fear lasting a few days, will there be a decrease or increase in BP and PR or will these be in the usual range during this period?
