Life After Stroke by Ms Ng Su Yee
Launched in October 2014, Life After Stroke is a special project dedicated to improving the lives of stroke survivors in the community. It also provides support and learning for carers and family members of stroke survivors. Life After Stroke aims to build a positive and open environment for stroke survivors and their caregivers to find support and encouragement throughout their journeys. The programme incorporates the ‘Learn, Interact, Flourish and Engage (L.I.F.E)’ components through group activities, outings, exercise sessions and educational talks by healthcare professionals and fellow stroke survivors.
As a Senior Physiotherapist with Yishun Community Hospital, Ms Ng Su Yee has experience in providing clinical care for a broad-based patient population. In addition, as a volunteer with Singapore National Stroke Association, she has been involved in participating and facilitating the activities. Her volunteer work with Life After Stroke allows her to share the life-changing stories of the participants and advocates her cause of a meaningful life after stroke.
