Great video and info! Question is, when replacing reeds, do you need to change the jet in the carb? If so , how do you know which size jet to install?

    Hello.
I have a question to you. I have a Yamaha DT125r from 2000. It’s a road bike with gianelli exhaust for the rest orginal. Do you have experience with v force reeds? Does this make any difference?
    Thanks from Michael

i had a boat motor that sucked a reed petal into the motor it took me forever to figure out the problem , i replaced it and it ran perfect , i used the motor for years and never took the motor apart to find the piece that it ingested ..

My rm85 hesitates in almost every gear but if I let go of throttle and then gas it again the power is there but feels like it could be more gets better as it warms up , I’ve cleaned the carb over 5 times making sure I’ve got everything , checked my reed valves and one of them has a slight gap for sure isn’t sealed like the other one could this be the problem or should I start looking to see if it’s something else

  19. rexdadpapa on February 3, 2021 at 8:19 pm

My yz125 idles but when I put it into gear I can ride it for 200ft before it’s sputter and stops, could the reed valves be the issue? I just did a carb rebuild and top end rebuild.

Hi mate! My cr250 is sometimes hard to start (8 kicks’ish) also on idle its kind of revving on and off quickly (when hot) do you think this could be the reeds? They havnt been changed in well over 5 years

  24. julian poolian on February 3, 2021 at 8:25 pm

Do u think bad reeds can be causing an extremely high idol from the get go. I inspected the whole carb and can’t see anything that’s wrong even replaced throttle needle. And also messing with the air screw does nothing. Someone please help

  31. Jim Thundermeat on February 3, 2021 at 8:38 pm

I’ll try this one more. I have a 99 Polaris trail boss. It will not start it’s getting fuel is getting spark it just won’t fire. I noticed fuel dripping out of the front of the motor where the exhaust is. I pulled a little strings off the exhaust old exhaust part off and it was full of fuel. Is. that because of a faulty reed valve. And could that be why it will not start. Any help would be great thanks

  32. Honda on February 3, 2021 at 8:42 pm
