Few things slow down Wayne and Rose Brotzman, not even a serious stroke. In February 2017, Rose woke in the middle of the night. She was dragging her leg and her arm wasn’t working. It was a hemorrhagic stroke (also called a brain bleed.) After care at Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Comprehensive Stroke Center at LVH-Cedar Crest, her journey to regain her independence began. Inpatient rehabilitation started before she left the hospital. After discharge, she continued with outpatient rehab at the Health Center at Palmer Township and her husband credits the team with not only helping Rose learn to swallow, eat and walk again, but also teaching him several “hacks” to make Rose’s homecoming easier. In this video, he’ll share his tips.
