Really could have improved this video by doing it in a systematic fashion. For example: Eyes: talk through different ranges of score from least severe to most severe (4 –> 1) and then have filmed examples of each. Instead you’re just kinda dotting in and out of each section, without really emphasising the most important aspect, which is accurately relaying what you’ve assessed and communicating that as a numerical score.

Appreciate the effort, but not really good study material for medics.

Thank you…really appreciate the NT part, I think we usually give 1 in many situations that we should have assessed as NT….quite an educative video.

You are not only educating the medical fraternity, but it also is a great piece of information for non-medical individuals. I enjoyed it thoroughly and helps me to understand what happens in the EM department here on. Thank you so much for your video!

Hi, my daughter has severe learning difficulties, CVI, non-verbal and unusual responses to pain. Does this render the GCS as worthless? How would you recognise her issues without someone who knows her well being present?

  27. Ahsan ali sakib on December 25, 2021 at 12:31 pm

    Tnx…really helpful

Unless you know the patients name then asking their name isn’t the best question you could ask. I’d suggest asking them where they are and why, and season and year

  35. IsamuWilsonDC Chyrmang on December 25, 2021 at 12:40 pm

I used to confused this scale hmmm , now I can attempt any questions on this

Very helpful demonstration .. you could cover how to assign scores accordingly too..that’d make this a complete and THE BEST video on GCS on YouTube 🙂

  40. Julsie on December 25, 2021 at 12:54 pm

What about a paralyzed man, who’s intubated, and recovering from a particularly horrendous wasp attack? That’s just NT across the board.
