Introduction to visual recognition disorders, including agnosia, anomia, prosopagnosia, apperceptive agnosia, associative agnosia, category specific agnosia, and topographic agnosia. Discussion of how these relate to theories of pattern recognition and introduction of the ventral stream (aka the what pathway). Finally, a quick introduction to Navon figures and local versus global processing.
