Chair Yoga for Stroke Survivors
Chair Yoga for Stroke Survivors
Abigail Atkinson, stroke survivor and RYT200 yoga teacher, guides you through a series of chair yoga poses targeted to help balance the right and left hemisphere of the brain. She used these yoga poses during her own stroke recovery and found them helpful while she was still relearning how to walk unassisted. A chair can be a great way to make yoga more accessible, but it does not necessarily make it safe, effective, or suitable for everyone. Abigail is not a doctor or physical therapist. Always check with your doctor or other health care professional before starting this or any other fitness program and always have a caregiver with you.
the audio is very low.
Can you recommend some yoga exercises if one hand and arm is stiff?
yu re creiing good karma
A Stroke victim often can only use one arm,
sound is not good. More consideration to those
with use of only one side of body would be more
helpful.
Excellent! I really liked the simple left leg extend, right hand up movement – and the oppo of course, lol! I shall crib that one for my class 🙂 I hope 2017 sees you continuing to be well. Bless ya.

Awesome! I wish you had more videos for stroke survivors! There’s not many out there. Keep up the good work, Namaste 🍀
