Biblical Series VIII: The Phenomenology of the Divine

Biblical Series VIII: The Phenomenology of the Divine

In the next series of stories, the Biblical patriarch Abram (later: Abraham) enters into a covenant with God. The history of Israel proper begins with these stories. Abram heeds the call to adventure, journeys courageously away from his country and family into the foreign and unknown, encounters the disasters of nature and the tyranny of mankind and maintains his relationship with the God who has sent him forth. He becomes in this manner a light in the world, and a father of nations.
How is this all to be understood? I am attempting in this lecture to determine precisely that. How are we, as modern people, to make sense of the idea of the God who reveals himself to a personality? How can we relate the details of the Abramic stories to our own lives, in the current world? In what frame of reference can these stories be seen to make sense, and to reveal their meaning?

I think one of the main points of the Tower of Babel has to do with God teaching Man where Heaven really is. The collective desire was to climb up to Heaven, but because Heaven is not "up there", as Jesus said, "the kingdom of Heaven is within". And so the destruction of the Tower was like destroying the false idea that Heaven is up in the sky. By scattering them and making their languages different, it forces them to "go within", instead of continuing to chase the fantasy that "Heaven is up in the sky".

in Genesis 9:1, God commands Noah and his descendants to disperse and fill the Earth; the people in Babel disobeyed God by building a city so as not to be scattered. That is why he did what he did in Babel.

  27. Preacher Blair on October 13, 2021 at 9:06 am

Not to bad, but still sin. You hit almost right on in the family father, it’s why Christ establishes the father, cause sons become fathers. The father who raises a son leaves one like himself after him. An enemy to enemies and friend to his friends. Like he never left. Slave plantations always kill the son and father family. It is best to get the wife to leave and take son to move up into the house. And daddy on the field and she gets with another and takes son to shame father. And make son be a good slave to beg at hands of master.
Thus father disgraced is no glory to sons. And the blessing of fathers establishes the children’s house. Curse of the mother roots it out.
The Adam with fig leaf is idolatry such as Caine to kill Abel, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Not a man to die. That is also babylon the flood did same as Babylon. They just decided to build a space elevator it took a year and a half to get to the top. And this caste system for the labor classes is what GOD meant as one, for man is never one, but in GOD. So they were one under caste system Nimrod king at top escaped to Ur. The city Abraham came out of. Terrak Avraham’s father served Nimrod.
But the point is in the days of the tower when a man would fall they wouldn’t even stop to bury him and his wife and kids would just be given off. But when they dropped a stone they made, they would halt and hold oblations.
This is the man would do any evil, men worshipped their works even the lower class slaves. Do to put the rainbow into affect GOD divided into nation’s to judge instead of the world as a whole so we could learn on a more micro level. Hence the rainbow.
Now the point that you should be safe is incorrect. Completely. That is what I mean your in sin wrong try again. That is the tower you just preached again. And if you go back to bashful safety shit your compromising enslaves all. And that is what Christ finished the argument of. All your life fortune and sacred honor pick up your cross follow me I am the truth the way the life the only to GOD and there is no other. Thus you can’t compromise the truth you either do it not. Where Adam hid and compromised Caine Egypt Israel in rebellion Babylon fall, Assyria fall and ours for not holding truth self evident. Which is our covenant. For by the truth you are set free and free indeed you shall be. Do not rely on your own understanding but trust in GOD. And GOD SHALL LEAF YOU. you are sin born in all of us. Thus what we think is sin. You must be true so GOD can be GOD and you must be this to be free to serve GOD and be you. And this the only real and true you able to be ready to face death which makes you truly live. And this is what Christ means by who has a little it is taken and more then more given.
If your not true then the blood and flesh taken soul to hell. You didn’t choose to fill up your vessel. Virtues true heavenly GOD MADE. And if you do truth then YOUR FILLED with what? GOD THE ONLY GOOD and the only maker of all CREATION and mankind especially.
By the way the father is the husband the stronger vessel. And so the husband is to cover the wife and her son. Like Christ covers yours and is like your husband. So then if your sins all forgiven covered by Christ cause He is faithful serving GOD THE FATHER then you fathers and husbands are to cover and remain faithful always to your wife. Period if your Christian this is not a debate it is finished no more to say. Be faithful and repentant when not.

Inequality even exists down to the tribe level in places like the Amazon, with the leaders getting multiple women/wives, while some men go without. Too bad Marx (and people like him) was so ignorant of other cultures and civilizations. Heck, even one look at the pyramids should be enough to realize this point. But I guess he was too lazy and out of shape to travel very far.

It’s very unusual to be unable to find any negative comments for a video series which covers a mixture of highly controversial topics such as religion, philosophy, psychology and psychedelic drugs. I’m also amazed how Mr. Peterson is able to research, model and convey complex intellectual concepts with surgical precision while limiting his vocabulary to the right level (I assure you he does) so that this information can be comprehended by the largest audience possible.

I don’t want to be one to self diagnose but the more I learn the more I think I may have developed BPD over the course of my life (you’d have to know me personally to know why i say that) and the question he answered at the end gave me some insight to why one with BPD can’t seem to implement any plan to solve their problems, part of it is the answer he gave in the last lecture about how to help someone with BPD which is to lead by example and the other part is to actually do the things he talks about in 12 rules.

Yikes – you see this is what happens to Man – this is what got us thrown out of paradise. Man grabs responsibility that is not his to take instead of collaborating with God on performing the work that should be negotiated. God didn’t disappear. Man stopped listening and negotiating with him on his path. Of course, that only leads to one outcome – total depravity, which is why we have the New Testament. The author of life came to save us and we killed him because our pride wouldn’t relinquish the control we never had. Yet, God remained and still entered into a new relationship. Reducing this to some cosmic consciousness articulated by Jung is just not quite satisfying.
