Oh my. What a story. What an experience. What a beautiful boy and a tremendously loving family

  3. Carl DiVeglia III on October 12, 2021 at 8:23 am

See I don’t believe this would really happen for one main reason.

How can you speak another language if you knew NOTHING about it. You can’t know something you don’t know.

Like he said he took basic Chinese. So how much did he claim he knew? In theory, he should be capped at only what he learned in college or whatever class it was.

  4. jacob anus on October 12, 2021 at 8:24 am

    He is a liar

  5. じゃみっと on October 12, 2021 at 8:24 am

Here we go again…. He calls himself a "foreigner" (老外) at 3:30 even though he’s in the country in which he was born and raised. Use of the Chinese language by Westerners should never be used as a pretext for calling them "foreigners".

  6. Nik Nik on October 12, 2021 at 8:25 am

His brain was telling him he spoke that language bc the first nurse he saw was Chinese? That’s pretty cool.

  7. Constantine on October 12, 2021 at 8:25 am

So he studied Mandarin in school, knew how to speak Mandarin… woke up from a coma, and spoke some Mandarin…. ok.

  8. Tubal Cain on October 12, 2021 at 8:26 am

I woke up from a coma and only spoke fax machine sounds.

  9. John Cu on October 12, 2021 at 8:26 am

    Fake

  10. Josh Watford on October 12, 2021 at 8:27 am

It is well known that people who woke up from coma, can have a wide range of different new perspective. The brain does its own thing, no matter what some brain doctors say.

  11. Magic Monk on October 12, 2021 at 8:27 am

I went on "If you are the one" in China with him. Great bloke.

When I’m tired or very stressed : My accent shifts between Old school Texas Twang to Johnny Rottens’ own English .

  13. Mid-Century Modern on October 12, 2021 at 8:29 am

The Chinese( not the Chinese diaspora mind you!) simply worship Americans, the British, Canadians, and to a lesser extent Australians, learning the lingo will make those who speak some version of English quite popular with the Chinese masses.

These cases are very funny, I mean if you are going to get any kind of illness, I wouldn’t mind something like this, :>)

I’m taking Chinese GCSE can someone give me a coma so I can start speaking fluently to pass my exams

  19. Mike A. on October 12, 2021 at 8:35 am

So, if you’ve ever learned a second language, certain drugs used in surgery can make you speak that second language only for a while. It’s really normal. Generally, after the drugs ware off, you go back to your main language.

Proof reincarnation is a real phenomenon imo- how the eff would his soul know Mandarin!? I mean come on.

  21. Walt Evans on October 12, 2021 at 8:36 am

Wow that’s fantastic I’ve been trying to speak English for 87 years and I still haven’t mastered it yet but my psychologist told me I was acutely dyslectic, and I told her I had never visited that country in my life.

  22. Blue Collar Men Productions on October 12, 2021 at 8:37 am

From now on different language classes they’ll just put us in coma

  23. abmong on October 12, 2021 at 8:37 am

Stupid clickbait title. He didn’t wake up speaking fluent Mandarin. This isn’t that exatraordinary, anyone bilingual will tell you that they gained the ability to think in those languages and that’s when things clicked. It comes more easily to children. The coma probably reset his brain to that state so he was able to learn Mandarin really fast after that. You’re never going to become fluent in another language if you’re still thinking in your native language and translating in your head.

This story would be so amazing if he did not mention that he is actually studying mandarin.

  32. DIFFUSION BDM INTL on October 12, 2021 at 8:51 am

It was never specified but somewhat implied if he knew anything about Mandarin before the coma.

  33. TLC on October 12, 2021 at 8:54 am

If I could spend a week in a coma to learn a new skill, I’d take it.

This is what family is all about, sticking together through mass uncertainty and being an unbreakable bond of togetherness. Their bond is stronger than flex seal and repair

  36. Derek Roberts on October 12, 2021 at 8:56 am

The first time i ever heard of someone waking up with an accent or another language was in an Elton John song from the 2000s called “My Quicksand” a song that i find very haunting.

  37. 張童寧 on October 12, 2021 at 8:56 am

As a native speaker of Mandarin from Taiwan, I would say that his pronunciation is fairly good, but like REALLY fluent.

  38. Layla Glassbrook on October 12, 2021 at 8:57 am

Check on the new testament, this has happened when people were sent out to spread the good news about Jesus Christ. Their is more and more impossible facts being proven to be true.
