The fact that it takes a four stroke over 400cc to run with a 250cc two-stroke, why are we even talking about this

  11. Chris Chamberlain on November 20, 2021 at 10:32 am

For me it has to be two stroke simply for nostalgic reasons. The first bike I ever rode was a Honda c90 at about 12 yo… I crashed it into a hedge first time… it was a proper field basher and I went on to ride plenty of others at my friend’s house not knowing or caring if it was a two stroke or 4 stroke. Eventually I brought a Yamaha dtr 125 for 150 quid. That was my first love, my first real taste. That feeling of scaring the shit out of myself and what ever friend or friends that were on the back, or sometimes the handle bars when the Powerband kicked in… those were the days. 😌 two stroke nostalgia

I think 2 strokes are quiker off the line.

4 lbs. weight difference? Kinda splitting hairs it seems.

  14. hewger on November 20, 2021 at 10:35 am

Traction comes down to that a 4-stroke has only half of the powerstrokes on one wheelrotation vs the 2-stroke. This gives the tyre more time to gain grip again between the powerstrokes (power is delivered from the engeine as impulses, each impulse breaks the traction). This is the reason ex. yamaha r1 uses a crossplane crankshaft, to get a small power delivery break when you floor it out of a corner, hence you give it more time to grip vs a regular inline 4.

Small stuff but it wins races.

I’m an old geezer. Rode dirt bikes in the 70s in hawaii. I rode yamaha 2 strokes. Then one day I went to the yamaha dealer and saw the love of my life, ok, my wife is first but she was not in my life then. Anyway, there it was, a beautiful 77 tt500. I had to have it. So the next week i bought it. I never had so much fun as i did on that bike. I know nothing about new bikes and dont really care.

  25. Sleepy .Time on November 20, 2021 at 10:50 am

two strokes struggle with high speed stablity? Son have you ever looked at how many Baja 1000 championships the KX500 has?

  26. First gen Zac on November 20, 2021 at 10:55 am

Fun fact : 4 strokes are gay 🌈

  27. Sergej Nadaždin on November 20, 2021 at 10:55 am

I like 2 strokes since I’m the type of person to constantly work on and try to improve stuff, but since i am looking for a dailyable supermoto 4 stroke may be better. I also like to do stuff like wheelies and stair jumps and gaps, i also like the smell but it may be too much for everyone else since i live in a tiny european city (Ljubljana, Slovenia). I plan on hooning it around and doing some street jumps, so I’m wondering if I should get a good supermoto like an aprilia sx125 or the 2t mx125, or should i get a scooter and a non registered dirt bike for messing around? I prefer doing stuff the right way, yet running from the cops isn’t a problem, since the cops here kinda dont care if you dont put anything/anyone in danger, they’ll try to stop you, but if you run they’ll just give up. Even if they stop you, they’ll most likely tell you to go somewhere else where there aren’t cops.

I’ll just stay with my mountain bike 🤣😅

  29. Reef Logics on November 20, 2021 at 10:57 am

  34. MH on November 20, 2021 at 11:00 am

I had 2t’s in the 80’s, they wear out too quickly. I prefer 4 cylinder 4 strokes, they sound better too.

  35. First gen Zac on November 20, 2021 at 11:02 am

    It’s simple … if you have a penis -2 stroke ,
if you have a vagina – four stroke

  36. Billy Tracy on November 20, 2021 at 11:04 am

all i can say is 2 stroke for life

  37. Danielle Norton on November 20, 2021 at 11:04 am

  40. Jaydon Sorrels on November 20, 2021 at 11:10 am

    2stroke all the way

  41. Trevor Newton on November 20, 2021 at 11:14 am

I really want to buy a 2 stroke because there honestly more fun smell better and sound better but I don’t have the money to rebuild the top end every 8 hours

  42. Dave Begotka on November 20, 2021 at 11:14 am

Good vid….IMHO the extra cost of 4 stroke parts is a big thing……I raced 2 strokes from 1980 into the early 200’0s… raced a 4 stroke Husky 610 up pikes peak in 98 and a KX 500 in 99…..the KX was better for me…..this was back when it was all dirt, no guard rails, and bikes ran head to head….5th 500 pro class in 99 BTW…..

  43. Carbon Stingray on November 20, 2021 at 11:14 am

  49. Nicholas P on November 20, 2021 at 11:18 am

I’m not a bike guy, but I love the higher pitched sound of 2-strokes and love the way the fat front muffler looks 😍

  50. Frank and Rachel L on November 20, 2021 at 11:18 am

    I think everyone should own 1 of each!! A 250 and a 450!! KTM of course!!! 🤘🏼
